As we grow up, our preference on different day to day accessories like bags, shoes and clothes change. However there is one thing that we can't seem to throw away and although we replace the old ones with a more up to date piece it really doesn't make a difference. What this write up is referring to is backpacks. Backpacks are the kind of bags we usually see being brought by school children. These bags have two straps that go over the carrier's shoulder. These backpacks may look simple but there is more to this simple structure than what meets the eye. Backpacks or knapsacks are not only used in school. They have other uses as well. Here's a short list that will surely depict the versatility of a backpack. 1. School bags Well this is very basic. Children use this bag everyday. The young ones tend to prefer this bag because it can hold all their books as well as their notebooks and other school supplies. In addition to that, children's backpacks come in different designs. It can come in the form of a stuff toy like a bear, a koala or it can also come in the form of a vehicle like a car or a bus. Lastly, these bags have colorful and attractive prints on them. 2. Backpacks for a specific purpose These are special packs with certain features intended to carry particular items. Examples of these special purpose backpacks are those used to carry laptops, although what is commonly used are those laptop bags with short straps that look more like an attaché case. Laptop bags that are designed like backpacks are also sold in the market and unlike ordinary bags these backpacks have padded compartments to serve as protection. There are also backpacks that are used during picnics or picnic backpacks. These packs come along with plastic dishes, spoons and other utensils. Lastly there are also packs that are equipped with wheels and are known as roller backpacks. If you are tired of carrying the bag on your back you can just place it on the ground and let the wheels do their thing. 3. Professional Backpacks These backpacks are specially designed for soldiers. However, these packs are not your day to day bags as these bags are tailored to fit every soldier's needs. Packs used by soldiers tend to be huge and enormous with metal plating on the back. The reason why it's big is in order for it to be able to hold things like food, ammunition, water and even a first aid kit. A specific example for this is the ALICE or All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment which is the standard carrying equipment for the US military. 4. Outdoor Adventure Backpacks These packs are commonly used by adventurers and nature trekkers. These backpacks are ideal when going on a backpacking trip as it can practically bear heavy stuff. In order to prevent strain and tension on the back due to the pack's weight, straps are attached both on the hip and the chest area. And not only that, these backpacks are sturdier than the normal ones. These can hold almost everything from extra clothes to tents, mats and even food containers. Some trekkers often call this bag the multi-day backpack or technical pack. Simple as it may seem a backpack can really go a long way. With each designed for a specific purpose, it won't be a problem for anyone to pick the right backpack for them. |
