Six Tips To Maximize Your Luggage Space

Maximizing your luggage space will allow you to bring more items without having to add another luggage bag. There are in fact techniques or ways on how to make the most out of that limited space you have in your luggage. If you follow these techniques, you will surely notice the difference. Before you pack for your next trip, keep in mind the following tips.

1. The first step is choosing your luggage bag. To aid you in choosing the right luggage bag you should think about your travel needs, where you are staying and how long you will stay at your destination.

If you are only traveling for a short time, then you can settle for small luggage that can fit a week's worth of clothing. If you are going to travel for months, then bigger luggage might accommodate all your needs.

2. We have always been taught to fold our clothes whenever we pack but what we don't know is that folding can take up more space than we expect. If you want to have more space to pack your other items, you can always roll your clothes.

Rolling takes little space as compared to folding. In addition, you also prevent your clothes from getting all wrinkled when you roll them. Remember to smooth the creases though as you roll your clothes. Once rolled, arrange them neatly inside the luggage.

3. Utilize other items by stuffing them with other items. For example, you can put breakable items in between your rolled clothes. By doing this, you will not only save space, you are also providing fragile items the much needed cushioning and protection.

You can also roll your ties and handkerchiefs along with your shirts and other clothing. Other than that, you can also stuff your socks inside your shoes rather than folding them separately.

4. If you are a gadget person, then you will surely bring all your gadgets along with you. Some of the gadgets you might bring along are the laptop, the iPod or mp3 player and the mobile phone. Of course, there's the hairdryer, electric razor and even a travel iron.

These electric devices will surely need power to make them work so you end up bringing tons of adapters and chargers. These items do take up space too so to solve this problem it would be great if you a universal charger and adapter, the kind that you can adjust to coincide with each gadget's power requirements.

5. It would also help if you bring clothes that are versatile, the kind of clothes that you can use for day time lunches as well as dinner dates. Having these kinds of clothes will keep you from bringing tons of clothing because you are scared you might not have enough clothes to last the whole trip.

6. Learn to use the extra compartments in your luggage. These compartments are created for a reason so use it. Place your keys, maps, books or magazines in these compartments.
